The College of Charleston is dedicated to the welfare and safety of youth who visit the College’s campus, who participate in the College’s programs, or who are entrusted to the College’s care. As such, the College of Charleston will not tolerate the abuse of minors in any form.
To ensure the protection of minors (i.e., non-CofC students under the age of 18), the College has established measures to screen individuals and monitor compliance using relevant campus policies and standards. One such measure is the annual submission of this Youth Program Registration Request Form to conduct a youth program on behalf of the College or on the College campus.
The appropriate Dean or Executive Vice President must pre-approve any proposed youth program. Every approved youth camp, activity, or program seeking to operate on behalf of the College or using College facilities must submit a Youth Program Registration Request Form each year of operation. It is important to note that this form is a request, therefore, subject to review. Submission of this form alone does not meet the compliance requirements. Additional documentation may be required to complete the youth program registration process.
The Youth Program Registration Request Form should be submitted by the Youth Program Director in consultation with, and as approved by the relevant Dean or Executive Vice President. It is recommended that the Youth Program Registration Request Form be submitted approximately 30 days in advance of the planned start date to allow time to comply with all program requirements. Registration requests are valid annually from August 15 through August 14.
Describe the youth program including brief history, purpose, target audience, etc.
